Last night we hosted our WHIR Networking Event in Washington, DC for the fifth straight year in a row, and despite the August “recess” that DC takes, it didn’t seem to slow down the 100 or so attendees from joining us for drinks, food and fun.
First time WHIR Events sponsor CSC Leasing Company made a splash along with some of our regular supporters e-onlinedata, SoftLayer and Litle & Co. And some very lucky winners won their generous prizes.
Miguel Ramos from Neustar won e-onlinedata’s Roku Player.
Maurice Hofmann of Open-Xchange won SoftLayer’s iPad Mini.
Philip Corwin of virtualaw LLC won Litle & Co’s Visa gift certificate.
Dexter Bond won CSC Leasing Company’s iPod Touch.
We’d like to give a huge thanks to everyone who came out last night, and especially the sponsors. Without their support, WHIR Events would not be possible!
And a special thanks to the Internet Infrastructure Coalition for being our special partner on this particular event and bringing out some new faces.
It wouldn’t be a WHIR Event without some after-party action. Local Richard Feller of Hedgehog Hosting was so kind to take about 20 attendees on an impromptu night tour on his very own school bus to see the sites of DC, along with a stop for some post-event grub at world famous Ben’s Chili Bowl. It just so happened Ben’s was celebrating its 55th anniversary, and we apparently just missed Bill Cosby.
You never know what a night out at a WHIR Event will bring, so we hope you’ll join us at our next one in Los Angeles on October 24!
