WHIR Events Europe: first week in Amsterdam and Berlin

This week marked the launch of WHIR Networking Events in Europe in the beautiful city of Amsterdam and the chic and sexy metropolis of Berlin.

It seems we brought the recent wave of warm weather from Toronto with 30′C weather in Amsterdam on Tuesday. But the heat didn’t deter a very large crowd of about 120 out to Brasserie Harkema. It was great to reconnect with our Dutch industry friends we’ve met at trade shows over the years in their home town. It ended up being a very fun evening that migrated outside to the alleyway patio where we drew the prize winners from our very generous sponsors Parallels, SoftLayer, Equinix, ServInt, R1Soft, and local data center operator, LeaseWeb.

Last night’s event in Berlin was held at a very historic building that once housed the Communist Party during the Soviet rule of East Berlin.. Although it was a more intimate crowd, the room was buzzing with deep conversation, reuniting of peers and making new connections. And it appeared that not a single person who arrived left until the very end of the event. So a good time was definitely had by all!
