WHIR Events did Dallas

What a great hoedown at the House of Blues Dallas last night.  We’d like to thank everyone (and there were a lot of you!) who attended the first WHIR networking event of 2013. There is definitely a large web hosting and ping, power and pipe presence in Texas, and Dallas is no exception.

After four years of hosting these events, we added a new speed networking element last night, where participants could log in via SMS on their cell phones, and get directed to “dates” around the room every 8 minutes. Sponsors and participants alike were really excited about this opportunity to meet even more people in a new and dynamic way. We would like to thank everyone who participated and gave us your feedback.

Our gracious sponsors kept drinks flowing and appetizers passing throughout the night, and also gave away some pretty fantastic prizes to some lucky winners:

John Dunaway of Data Foundry won Vazata‘s iPad mini
Brian Parsons of twtelecom won CyrusOne‘s $250 Best Buy gift card
Andy Andrade from Limestone Networks won Litle & Co‘s $200 Visa gift card
Daniel Miller from Swearingen won SoftLayer‘s $200 Apple gift card
Jonathan Krybus of Vazata won Open-Xchange‘s Bose QC15 earphones
Ryan Gelobter of Limestone Networks won Cologix‘s iPad mini

If you couldn’t make this event last night, but are in the Texas area, you should definitely try and make it out to our Houston event later this year on November 14 click here to RSVP.

WHIR Events are a great way to get out there and mix and mingle with local peers, and we always seem have a loyal turnout of out of towners who travel to WHIR events as part of their business strategy.

If your company would like to sponsor a WHIR event and enjoy the benefits of guaranteed leads and a ton of exposure to our large online readership base, contact us for more information, as without sponsorship, there would be no WHIR events!

Our next stop is the web hoster centric city of Chicago on March 14 and we hope to see you there!
