Last night WHIR Events held its fifth annual networking event in LA at the W Hotel Westwood’s Whiskey Blue bar.
It truly was one of those perfect networking events with just the right mix of web hosts and vendors, including a range of titles from CEOs and execs to local UCLA students. Several in attendance had not missed a single one of our five events.
Minh Tran of SingTel won Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones courtesy of SiteApps
Maria Zamfir of Voxility won a Swiss Brand Backpack courtesy of A10 Networks
Jonathan McCarrick of OX won a Roku Player courtesy of e-onlinedata
Steve Banfield of Demand Media won a Kindle Fire courtesy of Meritus Payment Solutions
Sameer Khan of Grub Runner won a Dell XPS Tablet 10 courtesy of Microsoft
Jeanine Percival Wright of Media Temple (mt) won a $150 Visa Gift Card courtesy of Litle & Co.
Special thanks goes to Microsoft for its support of the event, largely in part to its customer round table event on Thursday in the area, which drew a nice crowd to the evening’s festivities.
Also to the Internet Infrastructure Coalition for its partnership of the event, with Jude Augusta of GlowTouch representing and spreading the word about the important role web hosts have in educating today’s government on the impact it has on our industry.
Darth Vader also made a special surprise appearance.
Yes. Darth Vadar.
You never know who you’re going to meet a WHIR event so we recommend attending the final event of the year in Houston on November 14, or loading up the 2014 schedule into your calendar for next year.
May the force be with you.
