At HostingCon in Austin Texas, Todd Abrams, the president and COO of Layered Tech (www.layeredtech.com) sat down with WHIR editor Liam Eagle to talk about enterprise cloud for a segment on WHIR TV.
The conversation followed a session delivered by Abrams at the show, “Enterprise Cloud Computing: Trends, Strategies and Best Practices,” in which he discussed strategies for deploying cloud computing that can maximize IT budgets and infrastructure.
In the WHIR TV clip, Abrams discusses the nature of Layered Tech’s enterprise customer base relative to the cloud. He talks about what that kind of customer looks for in a cloud solution, and what a company like Layered Tech has to do to build a cloud solution that will appeal to enterprise customers.
We’ve all heard that enterprises are hesitant to put production environments in the cloud, but Abrams disagrees, offering up examples of a couple customers who are running full production environments from within the company’s cloud.
