TheWHIR and WHIRtv Reporting from SWsoft Hosting Summit

Now that SWsoft has finalized the lineup of sponsors and presenters for its Hosting Summit event in May, and our attendance is in the books, I thought I’d offer another heads up on theWHIR’s attendance of another upcoming event.

TheWHIR will be there in force, once again, with as-it-happens reports via this blog and after-the-fact material via WHIRtv (the RSS feed for WHIRtv is available here)

Software partner summits are an interesting animal, as far as industry “events” go. Ask SWsoft, and they’ll tell you, the biggest benefit for the company is that, unlike at say, ISPCon or HostingCon, SWsoft’s own event enables its developers (most or many of whom are based in Europe) to interact with customers, people who use the product every day – something they are unable to do most of the time. That’s a great resource for SWsoft to find out what works and what doesn’t in its products, from the customer’s perspective.

Now, while that’s good for SWsoft, it doesn’t necessarily always make for sensational material on which to report. However, these events also tend to be a platform for the company to offer educational sessions on its products, which will provide plenty of material on which to report. And of course, the company will no doubt reveal new details about its product roadmap – particularly interesting given the breadth of SWsoft’s products.

If you’re planning on attending, perhaps we’ll see you there. If not, you know where to look to find out what is taking place at the event.

(Here, that is. I mean that you know to read my blog.)
