The WHIR at the Microsoft Hosting Summit 2009

I believe it’s an invitation only event, so you might not yet be quite aware of the Microsoft Hosting Summit taking place this week in Bellevue, Washington (the location of the enormous Microsoft campus we visited last year – you can view our photos right here).

Generally speaking, the event is closed to the press, but because Microsoft has a growing interest in communicating directly to the hosting business (and consequently a good relationship with the Web Host Industry Review), we’ll be there covering the event.

John Zanni

Here, John Zanni presents a keynote at last year’s Microsoft Hosting Summit.

One of the results of that circumstances is that we’ll be publishing some really unique content from the event, hopefully providing some insight into some developing projects, with direct access to some of the people developing them.

Specifically, I’ll be there, posting photos, blogs, interviews and anything else I can get my hands on. Larissa Primeau, our somewhat-new WHIR tv host will be there, well, hosting WHIR tv coverage.

Format-wise, if you saw our coverage of the Parallels Summit earlier this month, we ran a feed of coverage from the event, linked from most pages of the WHIR. That kind of coverage is a bit of a work in progress for us, but we’re bringing the content feed back for our coverage of the Microsoft Hosting Summit this week.

Everything we post tagged “Microsoft Hosting Summit 2009” this week will show up in the content feed. And if it’s anything like the Parallels Summit, there will be a lot of content.

As of right now, this blog entry will be the only thing in the feed, but that should change shortly, since tomorrow is the first day of the event (our flight leaves Toronto around 10:00 a.m.).

Coverage aside, we’ll have some ads and business development folks on hand, and we’ll have a booth set up in the exhibit area. So as usual, if you want to talk to someone at the WHIR, come on by. We’ll definitely have someone at the booth.
