All of a sudden I see life moving docs off the cloud server(s) I use (I think I use a lot of servers), talking to clients face to face, doing all of that George Jetson stuff. I am getting ready for that flying car.
It all started with my wife’s new iPhone 4 (I was going to wait until my current 3gs “year” was up). We got a call from Sean, saw his new dog Elroy, showed him our new pool. Yes technology finally and really bringing people together. I see it, it smashed me square in the face.
Yes, everything I do will be more server cloud oriented. The last year has been a big move in that direction. I have a lot of those “Apps” that do a lot of important stuff that I never knew were important prior to my learning about those apps.
I have been spending a lot of time studying the cloud for my HostingCon presentation. I have been delving into data centers, studying SaaS firms. Check out Netsuite for an interesting company approach for combined cloud hosting and SaaS in various vertical niches. We are going to need a lot more servers.
Today, (and yes I am dropping my normal “tongue in cheek attitude”) is the first time I – underscore – really live in the space age.
