On Thursday, May 20, we’ll be hosting our fifth WHIR Networking Event of 2010 (that’s tomorrow, if you’re reading this today – today, if you’re reading this tomorrow).
It’s an important one for us for a couple of reasons. First, because Toronto is home base for the WHIR, and the location of our first ever networking event. And secondly, because (as we announced last week), the WHIR is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month. Specifically, we will be celebrating at Thursday night’s event.
Needless to say we’re excited. And I just wanted to put an extra invitation to anyone in and around Toronto. You should come. You should have fun with us, get to know the WHIR staff, and get to know the local hosting community.

It is also definitely worth noting that OpenSRS (a company that has generously sponsored every one of our WHIR Networking Events up to this point) is based in Toronto. And they, too, are in the midst of a 10-year victory lap (not for Tucows, the company, but for the 10th anniversary of its wholesale domain business through OpenSRS).
Speaking of sponsors, of course it is important for me to point out that the events themselves are only possible through the generous support of our sponsors. Along with OpenSRS, the sponsors for Thursday’s event include Afilias, R1Soft, Attracta, SevenL Networks and Ravand Cybertech.
While the free food and drinks would be more than enough to win me over, our sponsors are also going to be laying some fabulous prizes on a few lucky attendees.

Awesome prizes, good company, an excellent business networking environment and an honest-to-goodness special occasion – to me, that sounds like the formula for an event not to be missed.
