It’s been a while since I last attended one of our WHIR Networking Events (I missed the Boston event, so the last one I attended was in Toronto, in May), but I wanted to make sure that everyone knows about our event coming up this week in Denver.
[To skip straight to the sign-up bit, head over to our networking event signup page]
The Denver networking event will take place this Thursday, August 26, 2010, at a cool looking little place called The Corner Office.
Response for these events has been getting better and better. And speaking as somebody who has been to almost every one of them, I can attest to the fact that they’re a great time. If you’re in or around Denver, I definitely recommend that you set aside a few hours Thursday evening for some fun and an opportunity to do some good business.
If you’re not familiar with how these events work, it’s pretty simple. It’s a good time, with free food and drinks. And some of the most interesting people in the local hosting community. It’s a great chance to make some connections, and a great environment in which to connect with some of the people you’re already working with.
The events, I should point out at this point, are made possible by our generous sponsors, which, in this case include OpenSRS, Latisys, Trustwave, Afilias and ViaWest.
Along with the food and drinks, our sponsors will also be giving away a collection of very cool prizes to attendees. The list of prizes includes:
OpenSRS: an OpenSRS Prize Pack
Latisys: an iPod Nano
Trustwave: a $100 Best Buy gift card and a two-year EV SSL Certificate (worth $899)
Afilias: a Kodiak Zi8 Pocket Video camera
ViaWest: an iPod Nano
If the prospect of free food and drink, a great networking atmosphere and cool prizes doesn’t interest you, well, I personally promise to throw a baseball into outer space. That’ll probably be worth seeing.
More details on the venue (including directions, a map and parking details), as well as a list of companies attending and info on special rates at nearby hotels, is available at the Denver event page in the events section of the WHIR website.
If you’d like to attend, make sure you RSVP. Just follow this link to do that. Hey, why don’t you do that right now?
