After four years, I recently decided to leave Cbeyond. I have many fond memories of the team and what we accomplished from helping build MaximumASP to working on the acquisition and subsequent integration with Cbeyond. As readers of this blog know, I am first and foremost an entrepreneur. For me, the call to do something entrepreneurial was more powerful than the momentum to stay.
So what’s next? In the short-term I have some cloud enablement-as-a-service ideas I would like to commercialize. Additionally, I am doing some consulting with cloud providers, VARs and MSPs on how to effectively sell and market the cloud. I just launched the website for my consulting company AlignCloud. I also plan to blog and speak more, now that I have time available to focus on those activities. Ultimately, I suspect I will end up teaming with another entrepreneur to help them build their cloud business, but I want to find the right opportunity before making that kind of commitment.
