HOSTING CONTROLLER by Advanced Communications

n

Hosting Controller is a complete array of Web hosting automation tools for the Windows Server family platform.

n

The Hosting Controller software, the flagship product of Advanced Communications, is a powerful and flexible multilingual automation suite that offers service providers a reliable, secure and scalable solution for building and managing Windows hosting environments quickly and easily. It’s advanced features and sophisticated billing system here designed to automate and improve Web hosting tasks.

n

Highlights: The software is designed to manage routine system administration tasks, DNS, mail, database connections, database backups and restoration, Web site statistics and billing. Based on the latest development technologies, such as XML, Hosting Controller is a powerful remote administration tool for Windows-based Web hosting, providing administrators with the tools they need to manage and maintain their FTP and Web sites seamlessly with secure, confined separate environments for hosts, resellers and administrators. The software differentiates itself from its competition by offering the most complete multilingual support of any hosting control panel system. Hosting Controller is available in 14 different languages including English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Japanese. The Hosting Controller control panel also supports a distributed environment. Hosting firms can use their own email and DNS servers on separate boxes. This affords Hosting Controller users the flexibility to design customer server structures. Using Hosting Controller, service providers can employ Linux email and DNS servers, while offering high quality Windows-based Web hosting to their users. Hosting Controller also differentiates itself by offering what it calls the only backup and restoration tool that can be integrated into a control panel system.

More Information Hosting Controller development started in 1997 with the goal of delivering a unique control panel for Windows-based hosting – then a rarity, as UNIX and its derivatives were considered to be the mainstream hosting operating systems. Hosting Controller became generally available in the fall of 1997. Since then, the control panel has evolved to incorporate some very sophisticated features, including backup and restoration. Hosting Controller has been implemented by a wide range of service providers, including Superb Internet and Interland, because of the product’s customizable nature. The newest version of the software features new XP-style skins, and a context-sensitive “on the spot” help system for end-users. According to Babar Zaman, a business development manager at Advanced Communications, “the system is unique and popular among Web hosts because it provides all that a hosting company needs to put their entire hosting systems on auto-pilot.” Advanced Communications offers in-depth customer support for the product. Installation and configuration of the software is provided free of charge, and the firm provides all its customers with free ongoing technical support. According to Zaman, the product is economical. Hosting Controller is priced at $500 per server. Only Web servers need to be licensed. As a result, no licensing is required for remote mail or DNS servers. Hosts that cannot afford to buy the software can rent it. Rental fees start from $45 per month and go as low as $10 per month depending on the number of licenses purchased. The backup and restoration package is available for $199 per server.
