Free Hosting Plan Yes Or No?

Reference | in ,, | by Lena Morrish

All depends on what type of website you have and what you expect from it. If you run a business and have a website which you hope to earn some money with, then it is strongly not advisable to use a free web hosting plan. If you pay nothing, you will not get a lot of things essential to run a business successfully: you will have too little disc space, restricted amount of data transferred to and from your website, very poor (if any) customer support etc. You just cannot afford this if you expect a lot of people to regularly come to your web site. Moreover, you will get things you do not need at all:n

    n
  • There will be plenty of ads of all kinds placed on your website by your host along with your own material.
  • n

  • Spammers normally go for the cheapest web hosting options. Would you be happy to share your IP address with spammers, risking to get banned by search engines?
  • n

  • On top of severe restrictions on basic parameters such as disc space, data transfer, supporting software and others, you will have to put up with various additional conditions and restrictions, e.g. restricted number of pages added to you website every day and others.
  • n

  • Expect your free web host provider crash your web site after a certain period of time, with no apparent reason. These things are known to have happened.
  • n

  • You will have to regularly back up your web site yourself, in case something goes wrong. It is not reasonable to expect a free server to do this for you.
  • n

nHowever, if you have a website, say, about your hobby, or with a few pictures of your newborn baby which you plan to show to a small group of your relatives and friends around the world, then perhaps you can settle for an inexpensive web host or even free web hosting. However, the things listed above have to be bared in mind when placing your website on such a server.nFinally, consider this: the hosts with professional web hosting plans are not as expensive nowadays as they used to be. After all, maybe it is worth paying under $5-6 per month to company who know how to set up web hosing and to avoid all the hassle mentioned above? Whether you run a personal or a professional web site, they will meet most (if not all) your requirements without ruining your budget.nLena MorrishnAn owner of www.InternetBusinessBTS.com where you can find everything you need to start an internet business from home
